Blehhhhhh

I woke up this morning with the worst headache! In fact I don't think it was a headache...I think it was a migraine (yuk). It just wouldnt go away and was quite intense...to the point that I thought I was going to be sick a couple of times. It has mostly gone now, but I still feel and look washed out. I've only ever had, what I think was a migraine, once before...a couple of years ago. I'm so glad I don't get them too often...and I really feel for people who regularly suffer from them....they are the pits! So anyway, I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day....hopefully!

Just thought I'd quickly update a few LO's I did during the past week....

This one I used quite a bit of stuff from my stash, but I also delved into my kit for the Boyz Mega Workshop over at Scrapbook n Bits which starts on Monday night. Those stars & arrows were just too tempting! LOL.
Although I didn't actually USE them...just used them as templates to cut out on some Bazzill. Love how this one came out, especially the colours. There is a journaling card under the photo that pulls out by the little piece of ribbon that talks about why I think Joel is so You-nique!

This one is using a photo of my Mum & Dad :). I used a kit (I think it was from Aussie Scrap Source??? - not 100% sure)...but I totally changed everything around and did it how I thought it su
ited best, plus I added a heap of stuff from my own stash. Love the colours in this one too!

Saving my favourite for last....

This is a scraplift from Jane Butler's "Baby Rosemary" LO - with Jane's permission, of course.

I just loved the way Jane had put her LO together & the papers that she used - so I just HAD to do a lift from it.

Pic is of Kate when she was about 8 months old and is titled "Baby Kate". The journaling tells about her cousins always calling her "Baby Kate". They would never just call her Kate....it had to be Baby Kate...LOL, it was always so cute!

Till next time....Toodlepips!

Well, after a week of thinking, I finally made a decision to take the new position that was offered to me.....and I start it in 2 weeks!!! LOL, I didn't think it would be happening that soon. But I am happy with my decision...and will be glad to not have the pressure of things that go with being receptionist for 5 busy doctors!

Now for some scrapbooking....

This is my entry for the April challenge at Scrapbook n Bits, which was set by Jane Butler this month - I haven't been able to upload it to the site because of the problems that poor Karen has been having :(

The challenge required 1.some kind of decorative edging on your papers - which I've done a wavy pattern on 2 PP's at the base of the tall brown flowers. 2.Use of some ribbon - threaded through the brown chipboard border edge. & 3.some journaling - I wasn't sure whether journaling strips would be OK and I couldnt check the forum to make sure, so I emailed Karen and she didn't think it would be a problem....hope that it is OK Jane!
I've used Kaiser Heritage papers that have been sitting in my stash for goodness knows how long! I hand cut the brown flowers from felt and used cardstock & buttons for the centres, Kaiser rub-ons & cardstock for the journaling strips which list all the things that I am.

This is my take on the April BOM challenge run by Jane at Scrapbook n Bits. I have listed all the things/occupations I could do on any particular day....and going by the list, I am very busy & should be extremely well paid...NOT!!! LOL

I've used the Dream Street Arte Nouveau range of papers - which I just love! Some SnB flowers, mixed alphas & some buttons.

I love how this LO turned out :) Thanks for the great inspiration Jane!

Till next time.....toodlepip! & I hope everyone is enjoying the school holidays :)

Decisions, Decisions......

Something I am not very good at.....I hate having to make decisions!!!

I have only been in my new job for 4 1/2 months and they are now offering me another position!

At the moment I am a casual doing 2 set days per week (Mondays & Fridays) - 8.30am - 5.30pm, plus a few extra days here and there, whenever needed.

The new position they are offering will be permanent part-time. Working every second week - job sharing (ie: work a whole week, then have the next week off) - 8.30am - 3.30pm.

The permanent part-time position would work out at less $$$ per fortnight for approximately the same amount of hours worked as my current casual position, as I'll lose the casual rate.

It would also take me away from the front reception and into the back office....which would still have a fair bit of pressure, but not as bad as being on the front desk as receptionist for 5 BUSY doctors!

ARRRRRGGGGG.....decisionsssssssssss!!!!
I will have to think and weigh up the pro's & cons of each job, and hopefully I'll come up with the right decision!

No, it's not an April fools joke....

Things around here seem to be a little crazy lately...extra work, stress from 18 yr daughter having a little prang in her car, & no time to scrap = not happy Jan! LOL

DD comes home on 1st April to let me know she had hit her friends car - my first reaction was, this is an April Fools joke! But no, it definately wasn't an April Fools joke. I goes outside to look at the car & this is what I seen .....

(please excuse the dirty car....things are so dry out here & we had had a really windy day that blew half of the regions bare, dry paddocks over the rest of the entire state....then followed by about 100 spits of rain = one spotty dusty car)

Luckily no-one was hurt, and there's minimal damage to both cars...but wow the cost $$$$ of getting minimal damage repaired is unbelievable!

We're currently waiting to hear from the friends insurance company to find out the exact cost of her car, so that we can then decide whether to claim on our insurance. If the total of both cars is around the same as, or less than, the excess...then we won't bother to claim on insurance. So, once that's sorted out, we can then get on with getting DD's car repaired.

Here are the LO's I've completed over the last couple of weeks....I think! LOL, been too stressed to even know when I actually did them...

This first one is about some of the simple things in life that I love. It is a part of my BOM that I am participating in over at Scrapbooknbits, which is being done by Jane...thanks for the great inspiration Jane!

Next is one about my DS & his love of music & his guitar.

This one is of me in Venice back in 1985...wow that seems sooooo long ago, and I can't believe how young I look! I used the yummy contents of the March value kit from Scrapbooknbits for this one.

And this last one is my entry in the April "scrap your stash" at SnB....inspired by the very talented Julie Collins! This photo is of DD & I, taken on her Yr 12 graduation night.

Well, that's all from me for now....till next time that I find time to come & blog....Toodlepip! (LOL)
