HELP....I CAN'T GET IN!

For some strange reason I cannot get into the SnB forum :(....it keeps freezing my computer every time I try to access it. I can get to any other part of the SnB website....the store, the gallery....just not the forum! And I'm not having problems with any other sites on the internet....just SnB forum. As I said, it just freezes on me....and says it's not responding. I've tried everything I can think of....ran a complete scan....deleted cookies...defragged ....disc cleanup....but still I can't get to it :((((

If anyone out there has any suggestions...or might know what the problem could be...please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated!

Hopefully I will be able to access it soon!

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!

I hope everyone has had a fantastic Australia Day!!!

We ended up going to the tiny town of Carcoar....a country town that's so rich in aussie culture & heritage!

It really ended up being a great day....but OMG was it hot! It was about 38/39 degrees...and to be out in the direct sun when it's that hot just makes it worse.

It made me think of the First Fleeters when they arrived here back in 1788...I'm sure it would have been a stinker of a day...so imagine what they were thinking & feeling! They probably thought they had arrived at that hot/fiery place ....otherwise known as hell! Boy oh boy, they musta done it tough....it's really hard to imagine what it would have been like for them.

We had a lovely lunch at the Royal Hotel....we had ordered chicken ceasar salads, but the girl informed us they didn't have any chicken....but they could do a prawn ceasar salad. I don't know if there is such a dish out there??...but OMG it was soooooo yummy! I think they've stumbled across something there & should have it on their menu permanently!

Carcoar is such a pretty little place...full of old houses & buildings...it's a photographers paradise (if you like to photograph that type of thing)....so here are some pics that I managed to get.....

They had market type stalls selling crafty things, antique things....and all sorts of stuff.

The crowds trying to stay cool on the river banks

or anywhere there was a bit of shade!

Gorgeous old Catholic Church...it really is a spectacular sight!

The railway station....which is set quite a bit out of the town.
Ok, that's all from me....I think it's time I hit the sack! Back to work this week....grrrrr! lol
Til next time....Toodlepip!

What a week....

Firstly, I have been a naughty blogger! I haven't passed on the award that the lovely Ness has given me....I have been somewhat pre-occupied (more on that later), and just haven't gotten around to pass it on. Most of the girls that I know in blogland have already been given this lovely award, so I'm afraid I don't have 8 people to pass it on to :( . So, without further ado....I'm giving this award to the following 4 girls.....

Congrats girls....

This is called The Proximity Award."These blogs believe and invest in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their awards".

Now to what has had me so pre-occupied this week.....

I decided I would apply for the DT position at Scrapbook n Bits - which involved submitting 3 LO's, 2 of which had to be bright....and Karen would choose 5 people that would then go thru to the next stage - where a LO will need to be created using a certain criteria and within 48 hours of being notified. I decided I would create 2 new LO's for my submission and after an anxious wait, Karen announced on Wednesday the top 5 people....and unbelievably, I was one of them!!! OMGosh, I've never been so excited, and honoured! Thanks so much for your vote of confidence & for this wonderful opportunity Karen! So now I've been busy working on my LO for the final submission! The 4 other girls - Niq, Kelley, Melissa & Kylie - are all so very, very talented....so there's going to be some tuff competition! Good luck to all the other ladies on your entries!
Now for another anxious wait.....

Now to some scrappy stuff.
A few things I've done since my last update....

Calendar for my kitchen....these colours go so well in there...love them!

This LO is for my BOM - using Jane's topic of "Happiness"
I've used the lovely Crate Paper "Prudence" range for this...and just love how it's turned out.

Well, just a quick update....my house is calling me to come clean it! lol
Hope everyone has a great weekend...thanks for stopping by!
Til next time....Toodlepip!

Home Alone!

It is just amazing how much stuff you can get done when you're home alone! No-one to interrupt, no-one nagging "what's for dinner"! Just lil' ol'' me doing whatever my heart desires! :) I also love the fact that you clean the house and it actually STAYS clean for more than an hour or so! I could really get used to that! lol.

Dave & Joel have gone to a motorcross school for the weekend, over at Peak Hill. I'm sure Joel is learning heaps & having a great time. Miss Kate is coming & going, doing her usual thing of partying, socialising....& partying. I think I've seen her all of about 1/2 an hour so far this weekend!

I have spent my time alone doing some scrapping....of course! :)
So I have a few LO's to share....

Actually, the first LO I did this weekend....I can't share yet!
It will spoil the surprise for Niq...who I have done a photoswap with over at SnB. Thanks Kylie for organising this...it was great fun scrapping for someone else....and to think that in the beginning I was feeling too chicken to participate in this...LOL. I'm so glad that I decided to JUST DO IT! I love how Niq's LO has turned out....I just hope that she loves it too! :) I will be posting it off to her this week...so once she's rec'd it, I will then post it here on my blog.

OK, so here are 2 other LO's that I did this weekend.....

This first one is of my dear Granny who is no longer with us. The LO is part of the challenge - "Scrap your Stash" which was created by the very talented Lisa at SnB. The criteria was to use chipboard flowers & brads - from your stash. I have been wanting to do a LO using this technique of layers of torn circles to make flowers - so instead of the CB flowers, I did this instead - but there is still some CB in under the torn paper flowers - just to help them POP from the page. I really love how this one turned out....thanks for the great inspiration Lisa!

Another challenge over at SnB.... this one is a new challenge that's been introduced this year, it's called "Snatch & Scrap"...and I think it's a fantastic idea. This months "Snatchee" was Lexie....and her gorgeous LO can be seen here. I love the simplicity of Lexie's LO - just gorgeous! I love how my "snatch" has turned out too....thanks for the great inspiration Lexie!

Another LO I thought I would share...but this one isn't from this weekend, it's actually from last year...but for some reason I never posted it here. I was looking through my albums and couldn't help but admire it...so I thought I would share ....

A double page LO! Something I haven't done too often lately. This was actually a kit I bought at my local scrap store - that I think came from Aussie Scrap Source? Anyways....I changed heaps of things on the LO just to make it a bit different - something I tend to do alot! Photos are of Kate when she was about 2 years old playing in the back yard when we lived at Yanderra.

And on another note....I have been given an award!!! lol, how amazing is that?!?! Thanks for awarding me with this fantastic award Ness! I'm so chuffed about receiving this...it's really made my day!

I'm not sure what I am now meant to do....I think I am meant to pass it on to 8 others (lol, as you can tell...I've never rec'd such an award before!). Hmmm...will have to do some investigating....and blog hopping!

Thanks again Ness!

OK, that's it from me...I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

2 posts in 2 days!?!?!?!

Wow, my little blog will be really feeling the love - 2 posts in 2 days! lol, I doubt that's gonna be happening too often - although I am hoping I can update more regularly this year....smaller posts, but more often, & hopefully with more detail...well, that's the plan. I can only try...right?

I just had a quick add up of LO's I completed last year.....94!
Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that I did that many....I'm a bit shocked!

So, I thought I'd get the ball rolling with this more regular posting & add the few LO's that I've completed so far this year....

This first one is my first LO using a pic that I printed on my new Pixma printer....wow, do I love that thing, and I've only had it such a short time!....how did I ever get by without it? and why didn't I get one ALOT sooner? It's just fabulous! I've used Basic Grey Blitzen & Fruit Cake ranges...LO about me always being Santa in our house...in other words - I'm the one who has to do everything & anything to do with Christmas! (enuff said!)

This one is our Miss Kate - just a tad under the weather & thinking she's The Dancing Queen (rolls eyes...lol). Used the super yummy Basic Grey Bittersweet range of goodies with this one - which was for a sketch challenge at Anna's . (wow the link worked - I've only just figured out how to do that! lol)

And another of Miss Kate - looking more her gorgeous self - again using the BG Bittersweet range....oh I am loving this stuff - I just can't seem to scrap enough of it lately! :) This one was using one of Jolene's sketches at Jolene's Sketch Blog

And the latest using Bittersweet - Me & my future dreams. There is a hidden journaling card in under the photo that pulls out by the little piece of ribbon on the left - that lists my dreams & goals for the future.

I'm sure there's going to be more LO's coming from the Bittersweet range...it's just great to work with & I'm loving it. I think it would have to be the first time I've scrapped a brand new product as soon as I got it...lol, I'm normally a "it's too nice, I'd better not use it" type of person....which is crazy, I know. Hopefully that's the end of that thinking....

Anyways...my groceries are calling me (I got home from shopping about an hour ago - put the fridge stuff away - made myself some lunch - came & checked emails etc while having my cup of tea - and well, the rest of the groceries are still sitting there.....shock, horror!!!

Okie Dokie....thanks for dropping by - & I hope you're having a fantastic day!

Til next time....Toodlepip!

Back to the daily grind....

Christmas & New Year has come & gone for yet another year....and it's pretty much back to the daily grind in our household.....everyone is back to work after the short break over Chrissy & New Year.

Christmas - we all got totally spoilt by the jolly fat fella in red....lotsa new toys for us all to play with. We had a quiet, but lovely day spent down in Sydney with Dave's Mum...ate too much food, drank a little too much wine - but had fun doing so! Kate stayed for a few extra nights with Grandma & arranged to hook up with her cousin that she hasn't seen in about 6+ years - she just wishes they'd had more time to catch up & get to know each other better...oh well, there's always next time.

Joel is still enjoying going to work each day....boy, oh boy, he is growing up so fast! I worry a bit about him working in this shocking hot weather we've been having....but he doesn't complain & just gets on with it - God love him!

A share of a few christmas photos....

The surprised look on my MIL's face as she opened her gift that I made.

And now for a catchup of LO's from last year that I'm sure I haven't posted yet..

Dec challenge at SnB - scrap your christmas tree using red, green & blue

These 2 LO's were from a kit from Aussie Scrap Source....with a few of my own added touches.

Kate's christening photo....LOL, and she's now 19yrs old - better late than never I guess!

My dear Nan....using the yummy Crate Paper - LemonGrass range of goodies!

2 LO's above were from a RAK from the incredibly kind Niq at SnB ...thanks Niq - totally loved scrapping these goodies & love the finished LO's!

Last, but not least....using the yummy Fancy Pants - Daily Grind range. Pics are of Joel at his Motocross presentation night where he received an encouragement award trophy.

I hope everyone is having a great start to 2009.....thanks for dropping by & til next time....Toodlepip!
