11 Fav's for 2011

Hello lovely blog readers....I hope you all had a lovely Christmas spent relaxing with family & friends, as did I.  2011 is almost over....I really don't know where this year went, it seemed to go faster than all the previous years....not sure why!  But I hope that 2012 is a good year for you all....stay safe & enjoy the celebrations to see in the new year.... :))

I thought I'd do the yearly thing that most of us scrappers do, and share 11 of my favourite layouts for 2011 (out of 128 layouts completed for the year), although some of my absolute fav's are awaiting publication....so unfortunately, I can't share those ones!

Anyways....here we go, in no particular order....

That was soooo hard to choose my 11 - I started off with about 20 & found it really hard to shorten the list! Oh well....at least next year I'll be able to add another, being 2012. lol.

Ok, that's it from me for the year
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!

Get Picky & some exciting news!!!

Wow, I'm back so soon!  Hahaha, that's what happens when you make a blog post around midnight when you're dog tired....you say things like "this will be my last post before Christmas"....when you have one more challenge post yet to put up!  lol  .....and you forget to announce some exciting news! (more about that after the challenge details)

This is sketch # 15 over at Get Picky

And here is my take on it......

Using MME, BG & Pink Paislee papers....with some Prima & Kaisercraft flowers, Dusty Attic CB, Maya Road journal spot, Chip Chop Shop chipboard button, Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button & Shabby Chic die cut.  Pics are from our trip to Victoria in October....taken at the Sticky Tart Cafe in Yackandandah - gorgeous food & if you're ever there, I highly recommend a visit!

A few close ups....

And now for my exciting news!
And it involves this.....

This year I decided, for the first time, to enter the Scrapbooking Memories Masters competition....and I'm so glad that I did, because I came home the other night to find a copy of the magazine in the mail (packaged very different to my normal monthly sub).....and to my surprise, I have received an honourable mention for my double paged layout!!!!  Totally stoked.  I don't think I can share a pic of my layout in the magazine just yet, it hasn't even gone on sale here in Aus.

I'd like to send out a huge congrats to all of the Masters chosen this year.....your work is absolutely stunning & very worthy of your Masters win!  And also to the many others who received an honourable mention....too many to name, but to those that I know in the scrapping world, it is a privilege to have my name there alongside you all :)))  It is also pleasing to see so many "newbies" who received honourable mentions this year - well done to you all!

I am pretty sure that this WILL BE my last post before Christmas (lol)....so Merry Christmas everyone!

And a huge thanks to my regular visitors & commenters.....your comments are always a pleasure to read & they are very much appreciated :)

Once upon a sketch.....

Hello blog readers :)
As I mentioned in a previous post, Handmade by Suzanne is sponsoring the challenges at Once upon a sketch this month & Nadia asked the HBS DT to be guest designers.

The 2nd challenge  for December is to use the gorgeous sketch created by Nadia & to journal about Christmas traditions.

December 15th Challenge

Journalling Criteria/theme: Our Christmas traditions.

We would love to hear how everyone spends Christmas Day. Even if you do NOT celebrate Christmas, what do you do on Christmas Day?

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.

And here is my take on the challenge...

You can check out the rest of the Handmade by Suzanne DT's gorgeous creations HERE

Thanks for dropping by.

This may be my last blog post before Christmas,....so I'd like to wish each and everyone one of my blog readers a merry Christmas and a safe & happy 2012.  xxx
