Show us your stuff....

I don't remember the last time that I participated in some kind of scrapping challenge....so, it's obviously been a while...too long, in fact!

Last night I had the house to myself, so perfect opportunity to scrap my little heart out.... LOL
I had seen the 15th June challenge over at "Show us your stuff" and had promised myself that I would give it a go...the criteria is Teal & Cream (which I love!)...and of course, some hand made scrappy items.

This is what I came up with....

Pic is from our cruise last year, sailing back into Sydney Harbour....which was just spectacular, even though it was freezing cold at that hour of the morning - but well worth being up with camera in hand to snap some spectacular shots :-)
I've used some really old Bo Bunny Flutter Butter papers...with some hessian, fabric, cotton lace, stamped leaves...and my handmade items are the hessian & sewing pattern lollipop flowers, that I made myself...plus the little book paper button, that I also made.  I really like how this one turned out....and it wasn't until I had finished it that I realised I didn't use any ink!...or mists!  LOL...that's gotta be a first!

TFL...hope everyone has a great weekend :-)

Some canvas fun...

I know I'm usually always "slow" at catching on to new trends....new crazes....new ideas etc, and I always end up thinking....why did I take so long to give that a go?  Or why couldn't I see the potential...or the fun in that, sooner?

Well as you all know....the canvas craze has been around for a little while, and yep, that's right....I've only just decided to give it a go!  And I'm so glad that I did....because they are sooooo much fun....and much easier than I would ever have thought!  So, if you too are like me & a bit slow on getting onto the canvas craze....then don't wait any longer....go for it & have a go!  You really won't be disappointed...I promise :)

Soooo ...... here are 2 of the 3 canvases I did last weekend (3rd one isn't photographed yet).....

Both are 16 x 20cm.....which is a great size to start out with!
Hoping things settle down here, so that I can find some time to create some more of these....they are so much fun :-)

Take care & thanks for dropping by <3

Week 3 of the Red Earth road trip....

Week 3 sees us visiting Sydney on the Red Earth road trip!
You can check out all the details of this weeks challenge HERE
And remember....it's never too late to join in! :-)

The challenge is to create a layout of a family celebration or special day out.....but without using any patterned paper!!! (huge challenge there for me....lol)

Here is what I came up with....

Using fabric & heshian instead of PP....pic iis from our last family holiday (all 4 of us) @ Norfolk Island.

I am really enjoying the challenges for this road trip.....and I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep up & complete all 12 weeks worth.  My mojo isn't playing nicely atm....so I'm hoping that it hangs in there!

Thanks for dropping by & happy scrapping :-)

Week 2 of RERT.... & a giveaway!

Week 2 of the Red Earth road trip has us visiting Lake Argyle in Western Australia....such a beautiful spot!
So this weeks challenge is based around the Pink Argyle Diamond (who wouldn't love a few of those!?!?!)....so the challenge is to create a pink layout!  Love it!

I couldn't resist doing this one....so here is what I came up with :-)

Pics are of a weekend in Sydney with the girls I work with.  They told us they had booked us a maxi taxi to get us all to the Opera House for the ballet....but this is what arrived instead!  A surprise stretch limo!!!
We had an absolute ball in it, drinking champagne & touring Sydney for 1 hour before being dropped off, in style, at the Opera House.  It was awesome & a great surprise!

If you'd like to give this weeks challenge a go, You can check all the info out on the RES forum HERE

Entries are due midnight Tuesday 14th June (and don't worry if you haven't completed the first weeks challenge, this comp isn't a complete all challenges type comp!  You can do as little or as much as you like - each challenge completed will give you a ticket into the major prize draw - plus there are extra tickets that can be earnt as well)

And now to let you know about a give away that Charm is having....would you like to win some of these?  She is giving away 2 sets!

You can check out all the details HERE

Red Earth Road Trip....

Our road trip over at Red Earth Scrapping is well & truly underway! The bus started up & the wheels were in motion early Wednesday morning.....the girls are all having a fab time, chatting, telling stories, drinking wine, seeing all there is to see in Cowra (which is our first destination on our 12 week trip)....and of course, SCRAPPING :-).

If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late!  The first challenge isn't due until Tuesday next week (7th June)....and even if you're unable to get this particular challenge done by  then, that's ok, because the way this competition works is that you can do as little or as many challenges as you like.....each challenge you complete & upload by the due date, gives you a ticket into the draw for the major prizes at the end.

It is great to see some familiar faces join us for our road trip....would love it if some more of my blog readers joined up too!  :-)

Anyways....you can check out our first town, Cowra, and the first 2 challenges HERE
And for all the chat, stories, singing etc.....head to the forum HERE
And for those that want to join us....you can join the ticket queue HERE

And here is my sample layout for the layout challenge.....

And for the card challenge....

As you can see....cards just really aren't my thing...LOL
A pretty basic card, but I guess someone will enjoy it.....one day :-)

Thanks for dropping by.....and I hope you'll think about joining us for the remainder of our Red Earth Road Trip!  :-)

1st June Stuck?! sketch

Can you believe that it's June already???  and we're almost to the halfway point for this year?!?!
Pretty scary stuff - darned if I know where the time is going, but it's going way too fast for my liking :/

The 1st June Stuck?! sketch is now up on the Stuck?! blog....go check it out & see all the CT's inpiring samples.    This months sketch was designed by the very talented Louise Nelson......

And here is my take on Louise's sketch......

A fairly simple one for me - pics are from a few years ago having a camp cookout while we had an Easter weekend @ Jindabyne.

I hope you'll all give this months sketch a go!
Thanks for dropping by & happy scrapping :)
