Week 9 of Red Earth road trip....

and we're off to South Australia & the beautiful Barossa Valley!

It took me a while to come up with this weeks challenge....there is so much to see & do in the Barossa that I just couldn't put my finger on what challenge I should set.  And then it hit me - because there is so much there, that there's no way you could fit it all on one page.....so, I thought a double page layout would be the perfect challenge!

This one was a challenge for me also....I can't remember the last time I scrapped a double page :-/
Pics are from our recent road trip that included Mildura - such a beautiful place!
But I'm pretty happy with the results......and it all came together a lot quicker & easier than I thought!

The card challenge for this week is to make any type of card using strips of patterned paper - to represent all those endless rows of grape vines that the Barossa is so famous for....

You have until midnight, Tuesday 2nd August to upload your entries to the Week 9 RERT gallery.

Thanks for dropping by :-)
Have a great weekend!

HMBS sketch challenge....

I loved the sketch this month over at Handmade By Suzanne (by Michelle Fowler)......so I just had to give it a go!

Here is the sketch....

And here is my take on it.....

I have flipped the sketch on it's side...and used landscape photos, rather than portrait.
I love these photos from our recent trip out west.  We had a day trip out to Menindee Lakes, and lucky for us, they were full at the time.  The scenery out there is just out of this world...truly spectacular!  I took heaps of photos but could have easily sat there all day just taking photos!  Loved it!

Thanks for dropping by - hope everyone has a top weekend!

RERT updates....

I have gotten a bit behind on posting updates of the Red Earth road trip :-/ ....ooops!

Week 6 seen us in the Snowy Mountains with Mistra....and the challenge was to create an all white layout!
(I didn't get a chance to do this one)  You can see everyone's entries, including Mistra's stunning samples HERE in the Red Earth gallery.  The card challenge was to create a card with glitter/sparkle.
All the challenge details can be found HERE

Week 7 & Susanne had us along the Great Ocean Road - such a gorgeous drive :)
Our layout challenge was to create a layout of any size, other than 12 x 12....... with any element of nature included on your page & a 3 word title.  The card challenge was to create any type of card incorporating a photo on it.

I only had a chance to get the layout challenge done....and ooops, I realised after I had completed it, that I didn't have 3 words in my title :-/  (good thing I'm just playing along for fun...lol)
You can see all the "Great Ocean Road" entries HERE  and the challenge details HERE

Here is my take on it.....

Week 8 and Helen has taken us to Burnie in Tasmania.
The challenge is to create a layout and card, focussing on all things paper (Did you know that Burnie is well known for its paper milling???).  You can see the challenge details HERE   and the entries thus far HERE

You have until midnight, Tuesday 26th July, to get your week 8 entries uploaded to the RES gallery.
I am hoping to get this one done sometime over the weekend....time permitting :-/

Don't forget, that it's not necessary for you to complete each weeks challenge to be in the running for some fantastic prizes.....you can jump on in at any stage of the competition.  It only takes one "ticket" to win!
But of course, logic says....the more "tickets" that you have, the more chances you have of winning :-)

Thanks for dropping by :-)

Filling in a bit of spare time on a Saturday night...

And I felt like scrapping!  So I did!  All DT & CT commitments are done for the month....and I had a bit of spare time, so I decided to do some kind of challenge.  I seen that Storyboard kits are celebrating their 1st Birthday with a sketch competition, so that's what I decided to scrap :-)

Here is the sketch...

Another piece of criteria is to use one of the techniques that are demonstrated on the Storyboard kits blog.
I decided to have a go at the spiral felt flowers by Kim Arnold.

You can find all the details of the competition HERE

And here is my completed layout....

Loving all the pink for this one.  Pics are from a girls weekend in Sydney late last year.
I ended up using 2 smaller landscaper photos, rather than portrait....and I think they adapted well to the sketch :-)

Thanks for dropping by & TFL

You can see the details of the challenge....along with lots of stunning pics & information on Dunk Island in the RES forum, HERE

Here is my sample layout & card
