Sketchabilites reveal # 64

Sketch # 64 is now live on the Sketchabilities blog, where you will find plenty of fabulous inspiration from the very talented design team!   I hope you will all be inspired & give the sketch a go :)

Here is the sketch.....another amazing one by Karan Gerber!

And here is my take on it.....

Using lots of gorgeous Echo Park - Times & Seasons (available in store at Handmade by Suzanne)
With some Prima flowers, Kaisercraft wooden birdcage, Lil Red Rocket vintage tag, Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button, some MME paper for the journal tags & Sassafras & Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers.

Pics were taken in Bright, Victoria of this gorgeous little pathway that led from the main street down to the river...it was ever so inviting!  So of course, I just had to snap a few pics :)

And now for some close ups.....

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you'll all give the sketch a go....just link your layout to the linky tool at the bottom of THIS post on the Sketchabilites blog by 14.2.12.

Testing....and Happy Australia Day!

A huge HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY to all the Aussie scrappers out there!
Hope you're all enjoying your day, whatever it is you're doing today :)

So, the purpose behind this post is to test the workings of a scheduled post...lol
& I find it hard to do a blog post without a pic!  I've already shared this layout before, but thought it was quite fitting for today, being Australia Day!...plus I don't have anything else that I can share atm - I've only been doing secret squirrel stuff of late :)

So, here goes....I'm seeing if this will post in about an 1/2 an hours time....but I don't know if the time I put in is referring to MY time (here in Aus) or American time ?!?!
Oh well, I'll soon find out...lol

Get Picky & Basic Grey

I love this months sketch over at Get Picky  and have ended up combining it with a challenge over on the Basic Grey blog, with is a double up challenge....to use paper/embellishments from at least 2 Basic Grey ranges, with 2 photos & a 2 word title.

I recently re-discovered/found a heap of my old BG collections in the back of the cupboard.....and I mean OLD.  I still have a heap of papers from Vagabond, Skate Shoppe, Lily Kate, Blitzen, Sub Lime, Oh Baby, Black Tie......so these are now in with the rest of my stash where I plan to start using them (because BG never goes out of date!).... rather than hidden in the back of the cupboard!

So, here is the sketch....

And here is my take on it......using up some of those BG collections :)

I've used papers from Sublime, Skate Shoppe, Blitzen & Out of print....Alpha stickers from the Vagabond collection, Office tab from Curio, Brad from Oxford...and another Brad, I think from the Marrakech collection.....plus a few Prima, Kaisercraft & Manor House flowers, and a really old Fancy Pants chipboard flourish.....and A Lil Somethin butterfly & ticket.

And a few close ups...

Loved using up some of that old stash!

Thanks for dropping by...and I hope everyone has a great week :).  xx

My Minds Eye - Blog challenge 31

Challenge 31 over at the My Minds Eye blog is a sketch challenge with the theme of "New".

The sketch (created by Anam Stubbington)....

MME2012_sketch_layout01_Jan

And here is my take on it....

Using a few different papers, die cuts & stickers from a few different MME ranges - Lime Twist, Ooh La La, Quite Contrary & Lost & Found Two.

Pic is from New Years Eve 2009 while we were holidaying at Norfolk Island....with fish & chips, picnic style...with the most beautiful view & sunset - it was just magical :)

A few close ups....

TFL!  xx

Jan 15 Stuck!? sketch....

Yesterday, being exactly 1 year after, I decided it was about time I scrapped this, not so happy, event - about DS's emergency dash to Bathurst Base Hospital & then the continuing drama 1 week later when he was back in the local hospital.

Soooo, using the Jan 15th Stuck sketch.....

This is what I have created....

Lots & lots of journaling on this one....to tell the story.  I didn't have any pics relating to the mad dash, so found these pics of the hospital on-line.  But really, it's all about documenting the story for this LO, not the pics.

Any guesses on what these papers are?  They are really OLD (I seem to be doing that alot lately, using up super old stash - probably due to me recently having a bit of a clean out! lol)  - it is the Lemon Grass range from Crate Paper....not sure HOW old it is, but I've had it for donkey's years!

It really was an awful week or so....but feels good to finally have it documented :)

All good things must come to an end....

Hello everyone.....Happy Friday  :)

I'm here to share my last layout using the very versatile "Farmhouse" range from October Afternoon that Suzanne sent me for my January Handmade By Suzanne DT kit (all available in store!)

My layout is based on this sketch over on the October Afternoon blog...

Roree-OA Jan12-Jan 12 Sketch 2

....well, that's what it started out as, but I guess you could say that I've gone a little off track with it...lol.  But at least the bones of the sketch is still there, as in the rows of different tones/colours!

Here is my layout....

Using up the leftovers of the Farmhouse papers - Attic Trunk,  ClotheslineFaded WallpaperGravel RoadHer Bureau  &  Sunday Dinner, that are just placed in strips to form the base of the sketch.  I've also used one of the little tickets from the Miscellany pack & alphas from the Found alpha sticker sheet....along with another Manor House Creations Prior Rose - Vanilla flower.
I've added a few pieces from my stash....Coredinations CS - Kaisercraft blooms & wooden butterfly, Prima flower, Lil Red Rocket flag, yellow button & OA alpha stickers.

I have tried something a bit different & new, for me, & have randomly punched the outside of my layout using my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch along with a bit of distressing :)

And a few close ups...

TFL & I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.  xx

And here is what I've created....

My background page is a SUPER DUPER OLD (about 6 years old) piece of Cosmo Cricket from the "Wanted" collection (Love it & not sure why it has sat in my stash for so long :-/).  I've used my CW chicken wire template with some brown Pinecone Veracolor ink to mask it.....there's a tiny piece of MME Lost & Found 2 PP, a Dusty Attic CB flourish, Prima & Kaisercraft flowers, Maya Road clock face, Kaisercraft resin flower,  Prima leaves & Kaisercraft wooden birdcage, Basic Grey & Fancy Pants alpha stickers...with a few splatters of TA Suede glimmermist.

Pic is from our most recent holiday down to Victoria.....this big sculpture/statue of Ned Kelly was in the front courtyard of a gorgeous little B&B (no, we didn't stay there...we just borrowed their courtyard for out little photo shoot...lol).  I'm super happy with how this layout turned out....probably my fav for the year so far :)

October Afternoon "Farmhouse"

I received my Handmade by Suzanne DT kit on Monday, when I was home from work with a nasty migraine!....so all I could do was drool over it all day!  It is such an amazing gorgeous kit full of so many beautiful things.....thank you Suzanne!!!

So, needless to say, I have been itching to get scrapping with it, so I've managed to squeeze in a bit of scrapping each night after work & have finally finished a few layouts :)

My gorgeous kit contained papers, Alpha's & the Miscellany pack from the October Afternoon "Farmhouse"range ......some Manor House flowers, Prima Flowers, Zva pearl flourish and some gorgeous ribbons & trims  <3

So, without further ado....here is the first layout I have created using my kit.....

My base is Coredinations CS (available at HBS here).  The CB butterfly, grey button  & yellow ticket are from the Farmhouse Miscellany pack, which is full of so many fabulous things!...and the large letter N in my title from the Farmhouse Found alpha sticker sheet.  The golden coloured leaves were cut using my Cheery Lynn "Olive Branches" die ...and my journal strips were cut from the Manor House flowers packaging :)

October Afternoon "Farmhouse" papers used:  Attic Trunk,  Clothesline,  Faded Wallpaper  & Gravel Road.....all available here.  I have added a few pieces from my own stash....buttons, Kaisercraft paper bloom, punched butterfly & October Afternoon Mini Market alpha stickers.

Now for a few close ups....

I have glimmermisted one of my Manor House flowers to give it a lovely soft brown tone to blend in with the rest of the LO, and I also made the bluey/grey flower out of a piece of ruffled trim from my kit.

Don't forget about this months fantastic sketch at Handmade by Suzanne....you can see the DT's amazing interpretations of the sketch HERE in the January sketch folder of the gallery.

Thanks for dropping by & TFL.  xx
I will be back shortly with my 2nd layout......

Here is my take on it using random scraps from my scrap pile, some Lil Red Rocket and some felt flowers that were given to me in a rak by Melinda Thompson

Pic is from our cruise back in 2010 at the Island of Lifou  in the very gorgeously lush forest :)
