Guest Designing for CSI - Case File #60

Hello again everyone!
I'm back again so soon....but this time I have some scrapping to share :)

2crafty is the major sponsor for CSI for February, so the 2crafty DT have been guest designing.
Case file #60 has just gone live & is open for investigation.  You can find all the details on the CSI site HERE

Here is the layout I've created....

Using 4 different 2crafty chipboard pieces - Everyday Font alphas,  Barbed Wire,  Heidi's VinesFlying Birds,  and 2 Doves from the Dove pack.

My photo is from our trip down to the Great Ocean Road earlier this year...but this one was as we were heading home, at a little place called Timboon that had this amazing old railway bridge.

Here is the amazing scheme for this case file
(Just love the colours of this one!)

For the evidence, I've have done the following....

Big flower – large white flower in my cluster
Hearts – Heart in the centre of the Flair button
Birds – 2crafty chipboard birds
Circles – buttons

Decorative border – punched border on the left

Add icing – Impasto medium mixed with “chocolate” paint on my background using ledger mask.

Small brads/beads – 5 brads at the bottom area of the photo

Solid white background – well, it was…until I misted & masked it…lol

And for the testimony....

I have journaled in the form of a recipe – and my recipe reads like this…
Ingredients – 1 x Curdies River,  1 x year built = 1892,  1 x 183 metre length,  3 x years of hard labour,  Umpteen x lengths of good aussie hardwood,  A gazillion x bolts & nails.
Method – Widely use as train services until 1931 for passengers, 1977 for freight, and then fully close line in 1987.  Come 2009, restore bridge & re-open as part of the Vic rail-trail network.

Once completed – Heritage list & enjoy!

And now for a few close ups...

 My main cluster using a big flower, along with the 2crafty Heidi's Vines

 Barbed Wire piece & brads from the evidence...with the "method" part of my recipe journaling.

My title using 2crafty chipboard alphas - Everyday Font

The ingredients part of my recipe journaling...
along with my added chocolate "icing" on the background

2crafty chipboard birds - Flying Birds & Doves

Again, I had a lot of fun working with CSI this month....a huge thank you to Debbi for having me & the rest of the 2crafty DT as Guest Detectives.

I hope you have enjoyed my take on cracking this case :)
Until next time....xx

week 2 photos for FMS

Hi there peeps,

Just a quick share of my week 2 photos for the Fat Mum Slim photo a day challenge - seeings we're into week 4 of Feb, I thought I'd best get a move on with sharing week 2.

So I'll get right to it.....

8. Something orange - Couldn't go past Joel's new KTM

9. Guilty pleasure- This was todays indulgence at lunch....smoked salmon & avodado stack .... totally delish! {no camera on me today so this one wasn't taken by me, it is from the cafe's website}

10. 3 O'clock - Lugging in the weekly groceries...one of those jobs that I loathe. Not just the lugging it in from the car, but the whole process...and I usually always leave it until I HAVE to go do it, less we all starve to death...LOL. Hence the reason I'm out doing it at 3pm on a Sunday arvo!

11. Entrance - I really don't know what this amazing old door would have been the entrance to back in it's day....I spotted it in a secondhand/recycled building supply shop....it was HUGE & about 6 inches or more thick & would have weighed a ton {the mind boggles how they would have got it inside the shop!}

12. Where you ate lunch - In the park

13. Walking - at 6.15 this morning with my pooch....it was still dark & the sun was just starting to rise. {taken with my hubby's cheap point & shoot ...so not the best pic I'm afraid}

14. Love is....
{using an older pic taken last year}

I'm hoping to be back during the coming week to share week 3.
Have a great weekend everyone :)  xx

Scrap Friends - Yummy Scrap #10

Hello there everyone,

A few months ago I was one of the top features for Scrap Friends Yummy scrap, so I was invited to be guest designer for one of their upcoming Yummy Scraps.....and I chose February - Yummy Scrap #10

This is the layout I created ....

I've used a real mix of papers from my stash on this one...with a few pieces of 2crafty chipboard - Floral Spray &  Butterfly Frames

This is the colour combination for this months challenge.

 I struggled a little with this colour combo....
I think it was the darker blue that really threw me off...lol
But I really do like the end result...isn't it strange when that happens!!

anyways.... now for some close ups....

 A mix of different flowers & the 2crafty Butterfly Frame

And this is the 2crafty Floral Spray that has been loaded up with Impasto medium mixed with a brown paint then heat dried with my u-beaut heat gun that has managed to give it a bit more texture in the form of heat bubbles!  I've also added a few pearls onto the flowers.

I'm not sure if you can see it real well, but the layer between the punched brown border & the blue die-cut shape is actually a piece of canvas that I bought from a local cheapo store....it came in pad form & I've stamped over it and frayed & inked the edges.  I Love the way it came out & I think I'll be using lots more of this little gem of a find...and it was only a few $.

Textured background using Crafter Workshop hexagon template.
Photos are ones I took last month for the January FMS photo a day
{this is the first time I've scrapped with photos I've taken for the FMS challenge}

Would you like to join in on this months challenge?
Then get creating & pop over to the ScrapFriends blog to upload your layout :)
I hope to see your creations over there ....

Keeping the Best - Sketch #53

Just another quick post today {I seem to be doing that a lot lately!} to share my layout for sketch #53 at Keeping the Best....

Using papers from Lemon Owl (A Ukraine paper manufacturer) - Attic Door Collection...along with a few little pieces of 2crafty chipboard that have simply been inked in black

 Pictures of me being a lil bit silly with the anchor from a shipwreck
on Shipwreck Beach down at The Great Ocean Road.

This is the fabulous sketch...

I altered the sketch slightly, using 2 portrait photos rather than one landscape...

And now for some close ups...

 Here you can see my small cluster & 1 of the 2crafty Bracket Frames that I have cut in half & is popping out at the top of my photos.

 Another 2 crafty piece....Tiny Filmstrip

My title & another of the Tiny Filmstrip

And finally, another small cluster & part of my journaling.

Thanks for dropping by....xx

In case you missed them....

Earlier this month I posted some sneaks of my Febuary DT work that went live over on the 2crafty blog.

Well in case you missed them, or if you didn't pop over to the 2crafty blog to see them in full....here they are:

This first one is using a photo from Port Arthur in Tasmania
& 5 pieces of fabulous 2crafty chipboard!

Ok, now for my 2nd layout....

This one is a photo of my son playing at a gig with his band & I've used 3 pieces of 2crafty.

So there you have it....rather than repeating myself on how I dressed each chipboard piece, I'll just give the link again to my post over on the 2crafty blog, where you can read all about the techniques I used.  You can view my 2crafty blog post HERE

Thanks so much for dropping by...enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  xx
